On Full System Setup and Train
This month, Caralee Valdez, Principal of Sun Dog Consulting, shares her insights and feedback offered by a few of Sun Dog's many satisfied clients.
One of the very first systems that Sun Dog set up involved a small business switching from custom-designed, DOS-based programs to a new operating system and new computers. After settling on QuickBooks, Sun Dog worked with the client to establish new procedures and processes for invoicing, etc. The company now does all their own bookkeeping, while Sun Dog assists with quarterly procedures, year-end procedures and changes in the payroll options offered by QuickBooks.
On Selecting a New System
A long-time client found their business growth necessitated a move into a larger, more robust software system. Sun Dog helped them analyze what was needed, what was working, and what was not working, and then did the research to locate accounting software to meet their criteria. Of three viable software programs, the client selected Foundation.
On System Implementation
Over time, Sun Dog has learned how important it is to offer system implementation as one of our services. While many of our clients retain CPAs and accountants, these professionals work with the output and analyze the numbers, but do not necessarily specialize in setting up software and implementing procedures. Sun Dog Consulting often fills the niche of providing this support, getting the accounting system dialed out, procedures implemented and employees trained.
